Description	Deutsch: Unter einer vielfarbig gezeichneten Illustration, bezeichnet als „Mein vorläufiges Schlafzimmer“ auf einem auf den 21. Oktober 1846 von Hermann Kestner beschriebenen Briefbogen vom 21. Oktober 1846 aus Rom an seine Eltern in Hannover. Der Absender war zum wiederholten Male bei seinem Onkel, dem am Heiligen Stuhl tätigen hannoverschen Legationsrat August Kestner (1777–1853), zu Besuch. Über dessen Dienstwohnung im Palazzo Tomati in der Via Gregoriana 42 nicht weit von der Spanischen Treppe gelegen, beschrieb Kestners Neffe Hermann damals wie folgt: „... Die Einrichtung des ganzen Hauswesens hat übrigens außerordentlich gewonnen, so wie die Ausstellung der Reihen Kunstschätze jetzt ihren Genuss sehr erleichtert. […] Ein Zimmer, das zum eigentlichen Museum eingerichtet ist, enthält herrliche Schätze und würde jede hannöversche National-Galerie hinter sich lassen.“ ...
