Description |
English: Large iron door key of probable 17th-18th C. AD date. Measures 177.4mm long by 60.1mm wide at the bow and 44.8mm wide at the bit. The bow is semi-circular in shape, with a slight upwards protrusion from the horizontal lower side. The stem is circular in section and is solid. It measures 127mm long by 13.3mm diameter. There is a suggestion of a moulding at the bow end. The bit is very simple in form, being rectangular, with only one small rectangular cleft towards the bottom. The condition of the piece is highly corroded. Weight = 139.68g. |
