SIERRA DEL RETIN, Spain(March 13, 2017) – A Marine with 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), explains the nomenclature of his weapon to Spanish Marines as part of Spanish Amphibious Exercise (PHIBLEX) in Sierra del Retin, Spain, March 13, 2017. The purpose of PHIBLEX is to enhance interoperability and sustain tactical skillsets. The 24th MEU is currently deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.
