OKINAWA, Japan (Feb. 17, 2017) Seabees, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, conduct a hasty repel which is one of the 31 obstacles that make up the endurance course at the Jungle Warfare Training Center on Camp Gonsalves, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 17, 2017. JWTC exposes Marines and Sailors to training situations and environments unique to the Indo-Asia-Pacific region which sustain operational readiness and enhance forward deployed capabilities. NMCB 5 is the forward deployed Western Pacific NMCB ready to support Major Combat Operations, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief operations, and to provide general engineering and civil support to Navy, Marine Corps, and joint operational forces. Homeported out of Port Hueneme, Calif., NMCB 5 has 12 detachment sites deployed throughout the United States and western Pacific area of operations.
