Description
  • English: The building at the left-hand side of the inner courtyard of Palazzo Borromeo in Milan, Italy, is the best preserved part of the court itself, which was severely damaged by a bombing during World War Two (especially at the right-hand side). The building, which dates from the Middle Ages, preserves important prophane frescoes of the Gothic era. The facade owes its actual look to a fanciful "restauration" in the Modern era. Picture by Giovanni Dall'Orto, May 18 2007.
