U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec.10, 2016) U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Christian Dabadie, an assaultman with Company C, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), demonstrates the proper use of a main firing component of an FGM-148 Javelin Anti-tank Missile to Marines within his platoon as a part of Exercise Alligator Dagger, Dec. 11. The main optic and firing component of a Javelin missile system allows for the operator to zoom in on possible enemy targets and obtain positive identification, or to engage the confirmed targets through either a color or thermal imaging scope. Exercise Alligator Dagger enables the Marines and Sailors of the 11th MEU to conduct the comprehensive amphibious operations that keep their skills ready for crisis response and contingency operations throughout the Central Command area of responsibility.
