134th Military Intelligence Battalion Coat of Arms Description/Blazon Shield Or, a griffin's head erased Sable grasping in his beak a lightning bolt Gules, a bordure quarterly Azure (Oriental Blue) and Argent (Silver Gray). Crest That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve: From a wreath of the colors Or and Sable, the Lexington Minute Man Proper. The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the Common in Lexington, Massachusetts. Motto GATHER, INTERPRET, INFORM. Symbolism Shield Oriental blue and silver gray are the colors traditionally associated with Military Intelligence units. Blue conveys loyalty; red is indicative of action, bravery and courage. Gold reflects excellence, achievement and high ideals. The griffin combines the strength and courage of a lion with the vigilance and awareness of an eagle, reflecting the mission of the organization. The lightning bolt alludes to the speed and accuracy with which the unit's mission is carried out and recalls its motto. Crest The crest is that of the United States Army Reserve.
