Summary
[edit]Description12th Street and Clay Street, Over-the-Rhine, Cincinnati, OH (27228316527).jpg | These lovely brick Italianate buildings stand along Clay Street near its intersection with 12th Street just behind the iconic 1201 Main and Tower Furniture buildings. The building furtherest to the right is the Cincinnati Oratory, which opened in a 19th Century building back in 2016, which is connected to the Old St. Mary's Church at the end of the block. The other three buildings are late 19th Century examples of Italianate architecture common throughout the city, with large concentrations in Over-the-Rhine and the West End. The two smaller buildings on the right were originally built as single-family rowhouses, while the one on the left has always been a multi-family building with a breezeway in the rightmost bay on the first floor. Buildings like these express the history and beauty of Cincinnati, and make it a beautiful destination for those who are fans of historic architecture and vibrant neighborhoods. |
