Summary
[edit]Description12th Street, Pendleton, Cincinnati, OH (28225397338).jpg | These lovely Italianate buildings line the south side of 13th Street in Cincinnati's Pendleton neighborhood. Dating to the latter half of the 19th Century, these walk-up apartments and mixed-use buildings are fine examples of the vernacular styles of the city, and though some are currently abandoned and neglected, the current wave of renovation in the neighborhood makes me hopeful these buildings will be saved from the fate of others that once filled the gaps left by their demolition. Even the backside of these buildings, which is gritty and displays a different, more raw character than the front facades, is beautiful in its own way. |
