A vast improvement even under clear chilly skies Last night was clear and cool, but the temperature held up enough after dusk to allow some moths to take interest in the trap. After a high of 16 degrees, things are starting to emerge, slowly I must add. I trialled my twin 6w disco lights also in the side alleyway and this yielded 4 moths in 2 hours, a pleasing result. There weren't many moths come dawn, less than 10 but with 3 new for year species. It's quite often the case for my garden that I do get a good variety of species, but lack the sheer numbers of some people's gardens. Garden species count for 2020 now upto 34.
