הערות: רִאשׁוֹן לְצִיּוֹן - העיר הרביעית בגודלה בישראל. ממוקמת במישור החוף, בין חלקו הדרומי של גוש דן לאזור הצפוני של שפלת יהודה. העיר חלק מגוש דן. העיר נוסדה ב-31 ביולי 1882, והוכרזה כעיר בשנת 1950. הוקמה כמושבה חקלאית ציונית; המושבה הראשונה שהקימו אנשי העלייה הראשונה. בראשון לציון עוצב דגל ישראל; חודשה התרבות העברית בשפה ובחינוך. ב-1920 הוכרזה כמועצה מקומית וב-1950 הוכרזה כעיר בישראל. בסוף המאה ה-20 התרחבה העיר מערבה וצפונה וגדלה מאוד.
