הערות: מתוך סדרת נופי צומח פרחים של עוזי פז. ירוק כל השנה, עם קנה-שורש שטוח, עבה ומסתעף. הצמח גבוה מאוד, עד 2 מ'. גבעול-הפריחה יחיד, אך מסתעף בראשו ונושא פרחים אחדים. פורח באפריל ובמאי. גדל בגושים גדולים (קלונים). גדל בביצות, נחלים ומעיינות, בשולי המים ואף בתוך מים רדודים. הוא נדיר ביותר בארץ כיום, בגלל פגיעת האדם בבתי-גידולו, שהם ברובם מבוקשים מאוד לשימוש האדם. הצמח מכיל רעל, שנעשה בו בעבר שימוש כמשלשל.
