Vue d'ensemble d'un équipement Matra pour satellite (ECS 4) ; en arrière-plan un homme en blouse blanche présente une autre machine, micro. Cliché pris le jour où le satellite Spot 1 subit toutes une série de tests aux vibrations (visite des locaux et installations). Observation: Satellite Spot 1 : plus gros satellite européen construit pour observer la Terre (images à haute résolution). Maîtrise d'oeuvre CNES. Intégration par Matra. Alcatel-Thomson Toulouse a fourni des équipements. Projet né en 1975 au CNES ; phase de réalisation a commencé en juin 1980. Mise en orbite prévue en octobre 1985 par Ariane 1. Création en parallèle de la société "Spot-Images" chargée de prospecter et de commercialiser le produit à l'échelle mondiale.
English: In the premises of CNES (Center National d'Etudes Spatiales). March 11, 1985. Overview of Matra satellite equipment (ECS 4); in the background a man in a white coat presents another machine, microphone. Photo taken on the day when the Spot 1 satellite all undergoes a series of vibration tests (visit of the premises and installations). Observation: Satellite Spot 1: largest European satellite built to observe the Earth (high resolution images). CNES project management. Integration by Matra. Alcatel-Thomson Toulouse provided equipment. Project born in 1975 at CNES; production phase began in June 1980. Launching planned for October 1985 by Ariane 1. Parallel creation of the company "Spot-Images" responsible for prospecting and marketing the product on a worldwide scale.
