[edit]Description10th century Sas Bahu Hindu temple, Nagda near Udaipur Rajasthan India 2015.jpg |
English: Iconography, carving, arts, engravings on inner and outer walls of a medieval era Hindu temple.
Sas Bahu / Sahastra Bahu temples complex, about 30 kilometers from Udaipur lakes in Rajasthan India. Much of the temples complex was destroyed and plundered, and the faces of the idols and carvings damaged during Mughal era Islamic invasion and ransacking of temples in Mewar region of Rajasthan (Antoinette E DeNapoli, Real Sadhus Sing to God, Oxford University Press, 2014). The temples are near a small lake (some artwork is submerged in there). |
