Description |
English: Copper alloy, continental coin weight. Length 14mm, width 14mm, thickness 1.5mm, weight 3.05g. The coin weight is square in plan. The obverse of the coin weight has a crowned shield with a six pointed starburst design, all held within a circular beaded border. The reverse has the hand of Antwerp, which is flanked by a D to the left, the right is too worn to make anything out but would have had a second letter that would have been the makes initials, this is all held within a beaded circular border. These coin weights are dated to the second half of the 16th century. |
