English: Name: Eilat Beit Philip Murray Description: The Philip Murray Culture House was established by the Histadrut of the Workers Union and designed by the architect Elhanani as the first 2-story building in Eilat. It was inaugurated in 1956 as the citys cultural and social center. עברית: שם: אילת בית פיליפ מוריי תיאור: בית התרבות פיליפ מוריי הוקם על ידי הסתדרות העובדים בתכנון האדריכל אבא אלחנני כבניין הראשון בן שתי קומות באילת.נחנך בשנת 1956 כמרכז התרבות והחברה של העיר ובו הספרייה ובית הקולנוע הראשונים בעיר. הערות: המבנה תוכנן בהשראת הנוף של אילת והאקלים הייחודי, עם קירות עבים מאבן מקומית וגג פתוח למחצה המאפשרים מיזוג אוויר טבעי. לחנוכת הבניין הגיעו נציגי האיגודים המקצועיים בארה”ב, שתרמו חלק מהכסף להקמתו ולכן נקרא על שם ראש האיגוד פיליפ מוריי, שנפטר בשנת 1952.(המועצה לשימור אתרים) מיקום: שדרות התמרים 12 אילת קובץ מקורי: 20240213_133128.jpg |
