הערות: מתוך סדרת נופי צומח פרחים של עוזי פז. אחילוף הלבנון (קטן) הוא גיאופיט הפורח בסתיו ללא עלים, לפעמים עוד לפני הגשם הראשון ולפני צאת העלים. פורח בנובמבר–דצמבר. הפריחה אופיינית ללופיים: הפרחים נסתרים, יושבים על בסיסה של שזרה מעובה, עטופים בעלה גדול הנקרא בשם מתחל. נדיר בארץ, גדל רק בגליל העליון ובגולן, בחורש ובסביבתו. העלים והשורשים של הלופיים מכילים רעל חריף. אחרי השמדת הרעל (בקלייה או בבישול יסודיים מאוד) הם אכילים.
