הערות: מתוך סדרת נופי צומח פרחים של עוז פז. יאופיט טיפוסי למשפחת הלופיים. פורח בסתיו ללא עלים. הפירות מבשילים באביב. הם ענבות כדוריות בקוטר 2 ס"מ, ערוכות בצפיפות על גבעול, אדומות–סגולות בהבשילן. בכל פרי זרע יחיד, שקליפתו חומה ומרושתת. המין שכיח בארץ בעיקר במישור החוף באדמות חול וכורכר, נדיר יותר ביתר האזורים. העלים והשורשים של הלופיים מכילים רעל חריף. אחרי השמדת הרעל (בקלייה או בישול יסודיים מאוד) הם אכילים.
