הערות: מתוך סדרת נופי צומח פרחים נוריתיים של עוזי פז. פרח אדום גדול, אחד "האדומים" הבולטים בנוף הארץ. צמח עשבוני רב-שנתי זקוף, מסתעף במקצת, גובהו 25 ס"מ. שכיח מאוד ובולט בנוף בזכות פרחיו הגדולים, צבעם הזועק והברק המיוחד שלהם. פורח באביב, ממארס עד מאי, במדבר כבר בפברואר. השם העברי מחדש שם תלמודי ארמי "נוריתא", וניתן בזכות האור הזוהר מהפרחים.
