תיאור: קיבוץ דורות - תחילת הדרך
הערות: דּוֹרוֹת קיבוץ במערב הנגב הצפוני, ליד שדרות. נוסד ב1941 כקיבוץ הראשון בנגב על ידי עולים מגרמניה והצטרפו גרעינים מהארץ, מלטביה ומצ'כיה. שמו ר"ת של בני משפחת הוז (דוב, רבקה ותרצה הוז) שנספו בתאונת דרכים בכביש תל אביב-חיפה הישן. גרעין הקיבוץ הבונה ישב בחדרה. ב 1942 נקדחה באר המים, הילדים הגיעו מחדרה, הובא עדר צאן והנגרייה הועברה לקיבוץ.חברי הקיבוץ השתתפו ב 1946 בעלייה לקרקע בנגב של 11 הנקודות. הקיבוץ סבל מהפצצות יומיות של חיל האוויר המצרי. ב1956 חובר היישוב לרשת החשמל הארצית.
