Français : Dutertre : Traversée. Danse des nègres. On obligeait les captifs africains à danser parfois sur le pont du navire négrier pendant la traversée de l'Atlantique afin de les maintenir en bon santé pour la revente (estampe, vers 1840, Musée de la Compagnie des Indes).
