Description
Español: Función de acróbatas en la Plaza de Mayo en celebración del 25 de mayo. Al fondo, el Cabildo. Santa Fe, 1868. Autor: Pedro Tappa. Colección Clementino Paredes, AGPSF - Archivo Intermedio. Fototeca. Transcripción epígrafe C. Paredes: "Función de volatines en la Plaza de Mayo. Antiguamente los gobiernos obsequiaban al pueblo, en las tardes de fiestas patrias, con una función de acrobacia, que se realizaba en la Plaza de Mayo, después de las dos de la tarde. Esta vista que es una reproducción de otra tomada, por el primer fotógrafo establecido en Santa Fe Dn. Pedro Tappa, cuyo original se encuentra en poder del Dr. Clementino S. Paredes, representa una función de volatines, que se realizó en la referida plaza, el 25 de Mayo de 1868. Por la noche, en la misma plaza se quemaban fuegos artificiales. Esta vista ha sido tomada desde la torre de la matriz. En el fondo se destaca el Cabildo Histórico de las convenciones nacionales, demolido en 1908, para dar paso a la nueva casa de gobierno, y a la izquierda el edificio viejo de la jefatura de policía".
