Accession: 07-224-A Award. Medal, Good Conduct, USN Type I. 1.18" H X 1.21" W Nickel The USN Good Conduct Medal is the third oldest continuously awarded medal in the United States. The Type I medal was first authorized on April 26, 1869 and was produced by E. V. Haughwout Company of New York.. The medal was issued with a ribbon of red , white and blue material with no suspension pin. The recipient's name was engraved on the reverse. The medal is in the design of a maltese cross.
