04DED3 Roman knife terminal
Description
English: Roman copper alloy knife handle terminal, 19mm long, 9mm wide and 11mm thick. The object weighs 8.11 grams and has a dark green patina and is missing most of its original surface. the object is in the form of a bust and shows a cape around the shoulders below a simple face which is worn so that the eyes and nose can just be made out. The figure is wearing a Pyrgian Cap with its distinct forward facing point. The underside has patches of iron corrosion and has a depressed slit in its centre showing where the iron blade would have sat.
