03/548 Medieval buckle plate
Description
English: A buckle plate made from a single sheet, folded over, and secured with two rivets, neither of which survive. There is gilding on the upper surface only and traces of a textile within. On the upper surface is a raised oval area with two engraved transverse lines and two raised pellets between this and the wide slot to take the pin. The side opposite the missing buckle is finished off with a wavy edge.
