Description
Deutsch: Moderne Brückentafel der Mainzer Römerbrücke. Die Bronzetafel befindet sich am linksrheinischen Brückenpfeiler der Theodor-Heuss-Brücke, ca. 30 m vom ehemaligen Standort der antiken Brücke entfernt. Das Baudatum entspricht nicht neuesten Erkenntnissen, nach denen bereits im Jahr 30 n. Chr. eine Steinpfeilerbrücke errichtet wurde.
English: Modern bronze plate of the Roman bridge at Mainz. The plate is attached to the pier of the Theodor-Heuss-Brücke on the left bank of the Rhine, ca. 30 m from the past location of the ancient bridge. The construction date of the stone pier bridge has been antedated by recent research to 30 AD.
