I GIARDINI DELLA VILLA
I Giardini Reali, disegnati da Giuseppe Piermarini, sono parte integrante della Villa.
Verso il viale di accesso il disegno è “alla francese”, improntato cioè a un criterio di simmetria ed assialità, e le siepi e i fiori hanno una rigorosa disposizione geometrica.
I giardini dalla parte orientale sono “all’inglese”, impostati cioè secondo un criterio che suggerisce assoluta naturalezza: gli studiati accostamenti del verde sono arricchiti da elementi quali il laghetto, il tempio dorico, la caduta d’acqua, che riassumono, secondo il pensiero illuminista la dimensione storica di tutto l’universo.
Nel 1807, per volere di Eugenio Beauharnais, i giardini vengono ampliati con la creazione del Parco, progettato daa Luigi Canonica.
