English: The headstone of James Randell, died January 3 1910, age 78. His grave is in the churchyard of the parish church of John the Baptist in the village of Trimingham, Norfolk, England. James Randell was born in the nearby town of Cromer in 1832. His parents were Thomas and Mary Randell (Grey) and they lived in Jetty Street. At the age of 18 James was a ironmonger. In 1858 he was the blacksmith in the village of Trimingham. He progressed from this position to become the sub-postmaster, Tax collector and an Annuity and insurance agent. By 1901 he was the postmaster of the village. James was married to Esther and had two daughters Mary and Ada. They lived in Church Street and later in the Post Office. They were together for 49 years. In his will he left Esther a small legacy of £196 7s 5d. Esther survived James by 25 years and she passed away at the age of 94 in April 1935 |
