Description
English: Photograph taken in the 1890's depicting some of the descendants of king Cosijoeza, the Zapotec king of Zaachila, who famously defeated the invading armies of the expanding Mexica Empire during the reign of emperor Ahuizotl in 1497.

Sitting at the center is Mónica Gabriela Velasco, who may have descended from the daughter of Ahuizotl to whom Cosijoeza married after the war.

Around her are her two sons, José María Álvarez Velasco and Manuel Álvarez Velasco, her nephew Pedro Gabriel Velasco and her son-in-law Tiburcio Severo.

Sentada en el centro está Mónica Gabriela Velasco, quien posiblemente desciende de la hija de Ahuizotl que se casó con Cosijoeza después de la guerra.
