[edit]Description(0892) Mompha subbistrigella (36749277410).jpg |
Dire weather and pretty dire mothing Last night was pretty dreadful in my garden with less than 25 moths of just 11 species. In fact it would have been just 10 had I missed the smallest ever Mompha subbistrigella... it was literally 3mm long. Best moth of the night and a first for the year was a pristine Brown-spot Pinion, always a treat to see in such good condition. Trapping will probably be off the cards for the next few nights at least as it's currently windy and very wet here.
