中文(臺灣):本建築創建於1919(大正8)年,為花蓮港木材株式會社,1929(昭和4)年殖產局營林所東部出張所遷至此地,1942(昭和17)年再改稱為「花蓮港山林事業所」;本建物為日本瓦屋頂、洗石子外牆的和洋混合建築,仿文藝復興時期風格,幾何對稱平面和優美比例的弧拱廊柱,具古典語彙,外觀簡單大方,素雅端莊,庭園內樟樹、瓊崖海棠樹為伴,院落植滿羊蹄甲花、攀葉植物、綠意盎然、草香瀰漫具保存價值。為日治時期重要的林業產業建築代表。
