中文(臺灣):過去有「小九份」之稱的林田山林場,被稱為森坂(日語發音:摩里薩卡),以保存最完整的伐木基地聞名。林田山曾是台灣第四大的林場,規模僅次於八仙山、阿里山及太平山等三大林場。1918年,日本人在花蓮設立「東臺灣木材合資會社」,隔年改組為「花蓮港木材株式會社」,並在林田山進行伐木,1938年以後,便開始興建運材鐵道、中山堂、員工宿舍、醫務室、福利社、米店、雜貨店、洗衣部、理髮部、消防隊及幼稚園和小學等學校,讓林田山成為當時生活機能完善的伐木社區,全盛時期更是聚集了四、五百戶的住家。
