[edit]Description磚造鐵路橋模型.jpg |
中文(繁體):磚造鐵路橋模型,苗栗縣竹南鎮新南里(三角店庄崁頂)
English: In rural areas in many countries, it is quite common to see brick bridges, but they are quite rare in Taiwan. Usually, bricks have been used to build the approach ramp to the bridge. Today, the most well-known brick bridge in Taiwan is the ruins of Yutengping Bridge. This Yutengping Bridge was completed in 1907. Originally, there were six arches towards the northern end and four arches towards the southern end and the middle section used long-span steel truss to cross the river. Unfortunately, the spectacular bridge was damaged after Shinchiku-Taichu Earthquake in 1935, so the Japanese colonial government decided to build a steel bridge to replace it. The ruins bear witness of the major earthquake. |
