中文（臺灣）：清代自淡蘭官道僻建以後，行旅稱便，入蘭移民日漸增多，於是另一條由台北木柵到石碇，經坪林入蘭的便道也開始出現移民的步伐，這一條由台北經坪林、烏桶、三分子、碧湖、石牌通猴洞坑隘口的道路，就是現今北宜公路的前身。 日人據台後，基於軍事需要，由宮尾泰利於1898（明治31）年10月，召集民工，重新修建，費時七月完成，全程共計65公里。二次世界大戰爆發後，日本又因國防軍事考量，再次拓寬北宜公路，及至日本戰敗，國民政府接收後，於1946年成立公路局，才正式開始交通客運營運。 |
