Description
中文（臺灣）：林效杰，民國51年次，出生於澎湖。其父民國23年出生，為配合政府遷臺時一同流亡的學生。15歲時跟隨海軍搭乘軍艦從山東老家到達基隆港。因為在臺灣沒有親友可以投靠，只好再隨海軍到澎湖，並加入海軍行列。在海軍中因為能得到工作且衣食無缺，因此生活才算安定下來。

然而，軍中缺乏醫護人員，父親的教育程度還不錯，於是去「佐理醫護班」受短期的醫護訓練，開始在軍中擔任醫護人員，後來又進國防醫學院補訓相關課程，正式成為醫官，納入軍醫體系之中。母親也是山東人，和父親不同時間來到澎湖，經山東同鄉介紹認識，在澎湖結婚，我也是在那裡出生。

林效杰的訪談中有說明關於自立新村早期的生活型態，頗值得參考。
