中文（繁體）：李家樓大墓虎形尊（河南省鄭州市新鄭市新建路街道南街社區，1923年出土），臺北市南港區中研次分區中研里（舊庄）
English: The excavation of Li-chis-lou Tomb in Hsin-cheng City of Honan Province happened in August 1923, when no archaeological fieldwork took place before, wherefore it could be called as the "pre-archaeology phase". In the publication on excavation result, Hsincheng Ch'ut'u Kuch'i T'uchih (Illustrated Introduction to Ancient Objects Excavated from Hsin-cheng), we can see their various attempts on documenting excavation work. The illustrated images were made with collotype, which was then the latest photographic technique. Besides bronzes and jades, shell fragments were also included. Every object outlined the basic construction of the tomb with position of relics to present the excavation overview. We may say this is the forerunner of documenting artifacts with scientific methods. |
