中文：張達源，1863年（同治2年）出生於槓仔寮莊（今貢寮區），號松江。父親名為烏番，平時以傭役糊口，受人輕蔑；張達源因家境清貧，未能從師。
1880年（光緒6年），張達源隨父親移居基隆草店尾街（今仁愛區）。草店尾，與崁仔頂隔河相對，乃是繼崁仔頂街發展之後，漢人聚落成街的所在。張達源在富商底下工作10幾年，累積一筆積蓄，乃與摯友陳兆齊等合夥，開設金建順號船頭行，招徠蓬船客貨，經營得宜，獲利頗豐。 1895年（明治28年），日人接收臺灣，清廷臺灣巡撫唐景崧等樹「臺灣民主國」的旗幟，抵抗日人統治；在雙方衝突最激烈的同時，日人招募臺灣人工作，張達源曾於其間效力，被派為基隆廳僱員，想找到安身立命的長久之計；然而，不久便辭去工作，一意從事商業。後來，張達源成為一方巨賈。 1901年（明治34年）12月，張達源獲佩紳章，並被推爲保正，任地方建設委員、教育委員等公職；由於施惠貧民，並且擅長排解訟爭，當時多被民眾稱頌。 張達源逝世於1915年（大正4年），享年52歲。 資料來源： 【圖片來源】 陳其寅與龍運鈞，1959年2月。《基隆市志──第二十種：人物篇》，頁：13。基隆市：基隆文獻委員會。基隆文化局提供 // 【參考書目】 1.陳其寅與龍運鈞，1959年2月。《基隆市志──第二十種：人物篇》，頁：12-13。基隆市：基隆文獻委員會。丘國宣於2019年7月25日引述編撰 2. 洪連成，1993年6月。《滄海桑田話基隆》，頁：38。基隆市：基隆市文化中心。丘國宣於2019年7月25日引述編撰 |
