中文（繁體）：高屏溪，舊稱「下淡水溪」，與北部淡水河並稱，全長171公里，是臺灣第二大河川，水量充沛，流域面積廣達3625平方公里，是臺灣流域面積最廣的河川。1913（大正2）年其上貫穿著一座只通火車的鐵橋——「下淡水溪鐵橋」，堪稱是劃時代的重大工程。鐵橋完工通車後，以當時日本官方刊物的說法，是「東洋第一長橋，遠望有如彩虹一般，是南部臺灣的一大偉觀」。 |
