中文（臺灣）：紀州為日本幕府時期紀伊國別稱，現位於日本和歌山縣與三重縣之交，本料理亭應為當地人士來台所開設。紀州庵本店位於當時的艋舺，此日式建物應為「紀州庵支店」。在川端町時期本區的商業型態以「料理」與「花植木」為主，料理屋除紀州庵外，尚有川屋敷、新茶屋、清涼亭、有馬屋支店、樂水、清月、潯陽亭等店。本店為已知八間料理屋中目前僅存者，其建築類型直接表現瑩橋地區休閒文化與特殊的地景風貌，相當具有代表性。戰後本建築由省政府接管作為公家宿舍，有不少文化界人士，如王文興等，在此居住、活動，極具歷史文化意義。
