中文：這批相片為台灣新生報記者於1974年1月11日拍攝，主題為反共義士記者招待會。兩名反共義士羅家泉與陳家雲在臺北市中國大陸災胞救濟總會上舉行記者會，他們在救濟總會理事長谷正綱的陪同下，說明自己利用自製橡皮舟渡海投奔自由的經過。

反共義士為1949年中華民國政府播遷臺灣後形成之歷史現象，政府與媒體使用這個詞語稱呼自中華人民共和國投奔至中華民國的人。1954年韓戰結束，一萬多名中共戰俘選擇到臺灣，第一批戰俘於1954年1月23日抵達臺灣，政府將1月23日定為世界自由日，反共義士一詞在臺灣開始被大量使用。
反共義士能為中華民國政府帶來政治利益，因此政府常給予反共義士豐厚的獎勵，特別是那些駕駛飛機或船艦來臺者。反共義士投奔來臺，顯示了在臺灣的「自由中國」在政治上優於共產中國，也向國際社會凸顯中華民國在世界反共運動中的地位。反共義士在大陸的親身經歷以及他們的反共決心也成為政府向民眾宣揚「共匪暴政」與激勵大眾愛國心的利器。

1991年中華民國政府終止動員戡亂，不再將中華人民共和國視為叛亂組織，反共義士漸漸成為了歷史名詞。相片中的中國大陸災胞救濟總會也在1991年改名為中國災胞救助總會，2000年再度改名為中華救助總會，成立目的也從接濟大陸流亡人士轉為較單純的社會救助團體。
