English: The original inscription is located on a cliff in the southeast of Ergu Mountain, Shandong, China. It was carved by monk Andaoyi of the Northern Qi dynasty. Each character, Da Kong Wang Fo, or "Great Emptiness, Supreme Buddha", spans more than one metre in diametre. The style consists of a transitional script between clerical and regular script, which is imposing and energetic.
