English: This XVIth century illustration show the evolution of chǐ imperial measurement unit with time. Texte is wrote from right to left.
  • First line: 商湯十二村半之尺 (Under Shang Tang reign, Shang dynasty, twelve and half inches chǐ.) ;
  • Second line: 夏禹十寸之尺 (sous Da Yu reign, Xia dynasty, ten inches long chǐ) ;
  • Third line: 周武王八寸尺. (Zhou Wuwang, Zhou dynasty, height inches long chǐ).
Français : Cette illustration du XVIe siècle montre l'évolution de l'unité de mesure impériale chinoise chǐ selon les empereurs. Le texte est écrit de droite à gauche.
