Deutsch: Kurzgeschichte „Kriegserinnerungen – Gesichter Anatoliens“, publiziert in der nationalistischen Zeitschrift Türk Yurdu (Mai 1915)

Halide Edib [Adıvar] (1884 – 1964) war Politikerin, Lehrerin, Dichterin und eine der prominentesten türkischen Schriftstellerinnen des 20. Jahrhunderts. Während des Ersten Weltkrieges ging sie auf Wunsch Cemal Paschas (Generalgouverneur von Syrien und Libanon) im Sommer 1916 nach Syrien, wo sie die Bildungseinrichtungen inspizierte, später Schulen verwaltete und in Ayn Tura ein Waisenhaus leitete (bis 1917), das überwiegend

armenische Kinder beherbergte, die zwangstürkisiert wurden.

Halide Edib [Adıvar] (1884 – 1964) was a politician, teacher, poet and one of the most prominent Turkish writers of the 20th century. During the First

World War she went on request of Cemal Pasha (Governor General of Syria and Lebanon) to Syria in the summer of 1916, where she inspected educational institutions, later administered schools, and managed an orphanage in Ayn Tura (until 1917), which housed mainly Armenian children who were forcibly Turkishized.
