മലയാളം: ഉത്തര കേരളത്തിലെ കൃഷിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട് പുലയ സമുദായം രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയെടുത്ത ഗ്രാമീണനാടകമാണ് ചിമ്മാനക്കളി. പുലയർ പാടിവരാറുള്ള “ചോതിയും പിടയും” എന്ന ദീർഘമായ പാട്ടിലെ കഥാഭാഗമാണ് ഇതിനവലംബം. പുലയ വിഭാഗത്തിന്റെ ചരിത്രവും ദൈന്യതകളും ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ അനിശ്ചിതത്വങ്ങളും പാട്ടിനോടൊപ്പം നൃത്ത–അഭിനയ രൂപത്തിൽ ആവിഷ്കരിക്കുന്നു. നർമ്മരസമൂറുന്ന പാട്ടുകളും സംഭാഷണങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകും. തുടിയാണ് വാദ്യം. മാവിലൻ , മാവിലത്തി, മാപ്പിള തുടങ്ങിയവർ കഥാപാത്രങ്ങളാണ്.കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ പഴയങ്ങാടി, മാട്ടൂൽ പ്രദേശത്ത് മാത്രമേ ചിമ്മാനക്കളി നിലവിലുള്ളൂ. കാഞ്ഞൻ പൂജാരിയുടെ മകൻ കെ. കുമാരനും സംഘവുമാണ് ഈ കലാരൂപത്തിന്റെ പ്രായോജകർ.
