हिन्दी: तोप धातु की वह मोटी व भारी नाल होती है जिसके द्वारा बारूद व अग्नि के माध्यम से आघात् पहुँचाने वाली सामग्री यथा पत्थर के गोले, धारयुक्त अथवा नुकीले धातु के टुकडे एवं शीशे व पत्थर की गोलियाँ लक्ष्य की ओर बलपूर्वक तीव्र गति से छोड़ी जा सके।
English: A Cannon is a type of gun classified as artillery that launches a projectile like stone balls, pointed & bladed metallic pieces, glass and stone bullets using propellant. In the past, gun powder was the primary propellant.
