English: The term mountaineering describes the sport of mountain climbing. While some scholars identify mountaineering-related activities as climbing (rock and ice) and trekking up mountains,[2] others are also adding backpacking, hiking, skiing, via ferrata and wilderness activities,[3] and still others state that mountaineering activities also include indoor climbing, sport climbing and bouldering.
中文：登山运动是以攀登至顶峰为目标的运动，广义的登山运动不限制所登山岳的高度、攀登的方式、使用的器材等等，而狭义的登山运动则指利用专门的装备和技术攀登一定海拔範圍的山峰。
