Description
עברית: כוכב הירדן (ידוע גם בשמות יפה נוף וכוכב הרוחות בעברית, כאוכב אל-הווא בערבית ושאטו בלוואר או קוקט בצרפתית) הוא גן לאומי ואתר ארכיאולוגי הממוקם בקצהּ המזרחי של רמת יששכר (רמת כוכב), בשולי הגליל התחתון, בין הכנרת לבית שאן. במקום שרידים ארכאולוגיים מתקופות שונות, בהם חורבות יישוב עברי קדום, שרידיו של מבצר צלבני מפואר ושרידי יישוב ערבי. האתר ממוקם על פסגה שגובהה 312 מטרים מעל פני הים, ושיפוליה המצוקיים מתנשאים לגובה של 550 מטרים מעל לבקעת הירדן שפרושה לרגליה ממזרח.
