Notre Dame de France Tehuis Op die aand van 18 Mei 1948, tydens Operasie Kilsjon, het 'n eenheid van die Moria-bataljon Notre Dame Tehuis die Arabiese magte verdryf wat die struktuur sedert die ontruiming van die Britse leër beset het. Twee dae later het die Arabiese Legioen probeer om die tehuis weer in te neem. Tydens 'n hewige stryd tussen die Arabiese Legioen en die Haghanag, waaraan 'n eenheid tienervrywilligers ook deelgeneem het, is die Legioensoldate se opruk na die stad gestuit. The Battle of Notre Dame Hospice On the night of May 18, 1948, during Operation Kilshon, a unit from the Moria battalion Notre Dame Hospice, expelling the Arab forces which had occupied the structure since the evacuation of the British Army. Two days later, the Arab Legion attempted to retake the hospice. In a fierce battle between the Arab Legion and the Haganah, in which a unit of teenage volunteers also participated, the Legionaries' attempt to advance into the city was halted. עברית: בירושלים |
