English: Icon "George's Miracle about the snake." From the collection of I. Ostroukhova. XV century. Novgorod school. 82x63. Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow. One of the most beautiful images of George in Russian icon painting. In the swiftness of the horse - echoes of Novgorod paintings of the XIV century. The icon notes not only for the deviation from the original countess, but also the very translation, dating back to the early Byzantine plasticity of Barberini. Literature: Alpatov M.
