Summary

[edit]
Description
English: An "inverted rainbow" is an atmospheric optical phenomenon known as a circumzenithal arc. It appears as a bright, smile-shaped arc high in the sky above the Sun. Unlike a regular rainbow, which is caused by the refraction of light in water droplets, an inverted rainbow is caused by the refraction of light in flat, hexagonal ice crystals found in cirrus clouds.
